About
Welcome to the podcast
This is Serving Up Trouble the podcast all about smashing stereotypes, serving up fresh perspectives and rallying for real change in the world of women’s table tennis! Each week we’re joined by a guest from the women’s TT scene- players, coaches, game-changers-who open up about their playing journeys. We celebrate their wins, chop through the tough stuff and knock about bold ideas for a brighter more inclusive future on and off the table. Only 12% of Table Tennis England’s membership is women and girls. We believe that stat needs a serious shake up! We’re here to flick the script, tackle the teenage drop-off and get more girls back to bat!

The Host

Hello!
My name is Chloe Ireland and I’m a table tennis player, coach and international umpire who has been involved in the sport for 20 years. I’m a huge table tennis fan who wants to share my enthusiasm with the next generation of girls discovering the game.
I think women’s sport has a serious PR problem! A lot of media surrounding it makes us look like a charity or assumes women need to be convinced to like sport rather than catering to the sport-loving audience already out there! I’ve always loved sport but never felt like I had access to something that celebrated that love, providing me with role models, coaching tips and the idea that I could become elite.
Serving Up Trouble is a collection of everything I love about table tennis. The community, the skills and the enormous benefits it’s had for my health and wellbeing.

What's the vibe?
We're no push-overs!
“The women’s game isn’t as entertaining.”, “the standard of play is worse”, “All girls do is push” we’ve heard it all before! We want to call out some of these statements that have perpetuated table tennis for years and provide fresh insight into the women’s game. The speed, the spin, the power and the mentality.

We aim to turn existing players into table tennis super-fans by introducing female world powerhouses to a young UK audience. At the end of every episode, we declare our “Champion of the Week” an international female player that audiences should watch out for and follow online. The aim is to encourage a new audience to get inspired by players at the top of their game.

Fun, informative and entertaining is what we want audiences to think of
when they think of Serving Up Trouble! We are ultimately entertainment
and want to make sure that each episode is packed with funny clips
and stories, great advice and relevant news updates for women’s
TT all over the world!
